After installing QuickTime 5, I can no longer see JPEG images.
After installing QuickTime 5, you may notice that JPEG Images do not display, or display improperly. QuickTime 5's default installer puts an extension in your system folder called QuickTime JPEG Update. This is meant for newer Macs running Mac OS 9, and causes problems with older Mac OS versions.
To solve this problem, simply remove QuickTime JPEG Update from your Extensions folder, inside your System Folder, and restart. You will find JPEG Images now display correctly.
